Pre-employment drug testing, with or without THC

Rapid 4-, 5-, 9-, and 10-panel urine screens for non-DOT hiring. Negative results the same day, walk-in at four Denver-metro clinics, and any panel can run THC-free.

For employers

Set a hiring protocol once, use it for every candidate

We map panels to reasons for test, so HR can order a 4-panel for hiring and a 10-panel for incidents without re-explaining each time. Direct billing and same-day negatives to your inbox.

Panel options

Pick the panel that matches your policy

Every panel starts from the same core: methamphetamine, opiates, cocaine, and PCP. Larger panels add amphetamines, prescription sedatives, methadone, and oxycodone.

Since Colorado legalized marijuana, many employers run a THC-free panel for hiring and reserve THC for safety-sensitive roles or post-accident testing. We build the protocol to your HR policy.

  • Staffing and temp agencies
  • Construction and trades
  • Municipal and school districts
PanelScreens for

4-panel (THC-free)

Methamphetamine, opiates, cocaine, PCP. The most common hiring panel for Colorado employers.

5-panel

Methamphetamine, opiates, cocaine, PCP, and THC. Matches the traditional federal five.

9-panel

Adds amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, and oxycodone.

10-panel

9-panel plus methadone. Typical for post-accident and reasonable-suspicion protocols.

Breath alcohol

Evidential breath test, result on the spot. Add to any panel or run alone.

Any panel can be ordered without THC. DOT-regulated drivers are the exception: THC is a required part of every DOT screen.

How it works

From authorization to result

Rapid screen in clinic; lab confirmation only when needed.

  1. Before arrival

    Employer authorizes

HR sends the authorization with the panel and the reason for the test (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random).

  2. In clinic

    Collection

ID check, secured restroom, temperature check, and a sealed chain-of-custody form signed by the candidate.

  3. Same day

    Rapid screen

Instant-cup immunoassay read in clinic. All negative: the result is reported to the employer the same day.

  4. Days 3–10

    Confirmation and MRO

Any non-negative goes to a certified lab for confirmation and a Medical Review Officer, who verifies prescriptions with the candidate first.

Before you come in

What to bring and how to prepare

Candidates can walk in any time during clinic hours. The only things that stall a collection are missing ID or authorization.

Good to know

  • Drink normally; overloading on water can produce a dilute specimen and a recollection.
  • You may be asked to empty pockets and wash hands before the collection.
  • Plan for the full visit; leaving mid-collection is reported as a refusal.

Bring

  • Government photo ID
  • Employer authorization or the name of the company account
  • A list of current prescriptions, in case the MRO calls

Results

Who sees what, and when

Employers receive a result, not a medical record. A non-negative rapid screen is never reported as a positive until the lab confirms it and the MRO has spoken with the candidate.

Candidate

At collection and from the MRO

  • Copy of the chain-of-custody form
  • A call from the MRO before any non-negative is verified
  • Chance to document a valid prescription

Employer

Same day for negatives

  • Negative / positive / refusal / cancelled
  • Panel and reason for test on the report
  • No prescription or diagnosis detail

Clinic record

Retained

  • Chain-of-custody and lab documents
  • Available to the employer for policy disputes
  • Trend reporting for company accounts on request

Common questions

Pre-employment drug testing, answered

Answers from our collectors and clinicians. General information, not medical or legal advice.

ICA collector reviewing a chain-of-custody form with a job candidate at the front desk
Can we test without THC?

Yes. Our 4-panel is the common THC-free hiring test, and THC can be removed from the 9- or 10-panel as well. The exception is DOT-regulated drivers, where THC is required.

How long does marijuana stay detectable?

It depends on frequency of use and body composition. A single use may clear in a few days; for a daily user it can remain detectable for up to 90 days. A urine screen shows presence of the metabolite, not current impairment.

How fast are results?

When every substance screens negative on the rapid cup, the employer has the result the same day. A non-negative is sent to a certified lab for confirmation and MRO review, which typically takes 3–10 business days.

Why do you ask for the reason for the test?

Many employers use different panels for different situations, for example a 4-panel for hiring and a 10-panel after an accident. The reason tells us which protocol to run under your account.

Does the candidate see the result?

The candidate receives a copy of the chain-of-custody form and is contacted by the MRO if anything needs review. The verified result goes to the employer.
