Ericson B. Tentori, DO
Dr. Eric Tentori is a native of Kansas City, MO and attended the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, graduating in1992 with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Tentori came to Denver, CO to complete his residency training in Internal Medicine at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center and has been a fan of Colorado ever since. Dr. Tentori has been practicing Occupational Medicine in the state of Colorado since 1997, serving the Denver-metro area in addition to a 5-year stint serving the Western Slope where he had great access to some of the lesser traveled ski resorts Colorado has to offer. Dr. Tentori has over 10 years experience serving as Clinic Director of Occupational Medicine clinics and has spent the last 4 years focusing on the management of medically complex occupational work injuries.
Dr. Tentori is Level II accredited through the Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation and is a Certified Medical Examiner with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Dr. Tentori works in our Denver and Thornton clinics.
Martin Kalevik, DO
Dr. Kalevik is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Denver in Chemistry and performed graduate research at the University of Denver in Biochemistry. He received his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. While completing his Residency in Family Medicine at Des Moines General Hospital he served as the Chief Resident. In addition to practicing Occupational Medicine in the Denver area for the last 25 years, Dr. Kalevik has served as the Employee Health Medical Director for a number of local hospitals. Dr. Kalevik’s focus is on musculoskeletal injuries and restoring function and productivity to Colorado workers following work-related injuries.
Dr. Kalevik is Level II accredited through the Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation and is a Certified Medical Examiner with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Dr. Kalevik serves on the State of Colorado Division Independent Medical Exam panel.
James Fox, MD
Dr. Fox is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver. Dr. Fox has been practicing Occupational Medicine in Colorado for the last 20 years including 5 years as the Deputy Medical Director for Rocky Flats Environmental Technologies in Golden, CO. Dr. Fox joins the Injury Care Associates team with a wealth of expertise and experience in Occupational Medicine. Dr. Fox enjoys spending time outside with his family and dog camping, fly fishing, hiking and cross country skiing.
Dr. Fox is Level II accredited through the Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation, is a Certified Medical Examiner with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and is MRO Certified.
Sophie Schmitz, PA-C
Sophie was born and raised in Wisconsin. She received her undergraduate degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Winona State University in 2018 and then attended the University of Charleston in West Virginia, graduating with her master’s degree in physician assistant studies in 2021. She is excited to start her professional career with Injury Care Associates to work with Colorado patients and employers. Sophie is new to the Denver area and so far, is loving everything that Colorado has to offer. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and trying many of the local restaurants and breweries.
Sophie is Level I accredited through the Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation, is a Certified Medical Examiner with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and certified to participate in the QPOP outcome management system with the DOWC.
Tom Robinson, PT
Tom Robinson has been a physical therapist for 25 years and has been specializing in Occupational Medicine and returning injured employees back-to-work for the last 19 years. Tom enjoys the time he spends with his patients and the opportunity to rehabilitate injured workers and return them back to work. Tom loves the satisfaction he feels when his patients are improving and achieving progress in working towards their goals and regaining control of their lives again. His goal is to help his patients eliminate their symptoms, restore their ability to complete their activities of daily living and return to full function in their job.
Outside of treating patients Tom enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America.
Robyn Smolin, DPT, PT
Robyn is a graduate of Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May of 2017. Robyn also has her Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. She has previously worked in geriatrics, but is excited to get back into the clinic and help people recover from their accidents and get back to work. She is a recent transplant from Phoenix, Arizona and loves discovering all the beauty that Colorado has to offer. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, trying new restaurants, and exploring her new city.
Ashley Poczekaj, DPT, PT
Ashley joins Injury Care Associates from Chicago, Illinois where she is both a native and where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northern Illinois University. Prior to joining Injury Care Associates Ashley’s practice focused primarily on various orthopedic, neurological and post-surgical conditions including specialization in treatment for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease. Throughout her training and clinical practice, Ashley has experience with patients of all ages and a wide range of conditions including traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injuries, cerebrovascular accident (CVA) and post-surgical cardiac rehabilitation. In her practice, Ashley focuses on guiding patients to becoming self-sufficient and to becoming the most active and productive versions of themselves possible.
Ashley is excited to be moving to Colorado and focusing her practice on returning patients back to work following an on-the-job injury. While Ashley is going to miss the famous Chicago deep-dish pizza that she has come to enjoy she is looking forward to all the hiking and outdoor recreation opportunities offered in Colorado. One of Ashley’s favorite pastimes which will travel with her to Colorado is playing giant Jenga.
Lacey Abell, PT, DPT
Lacey is a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Madison where she earned her Doctorate in physical therapy. Lacey also has her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Through her training and clinical experience Lacey has worked in sports medicine, orthopedic, and occupational health clinics and has experience working with adult neurological populations and youth adaptive athletes. Lacey enjoys hiking with her dog, biking, snowboarding, and playing football and looks forward to exploring Colorado and leaving Wisconsin winters behind.
Iliana Cruz, LMT, MMP, CCT
Iliana is a Licensed Massage Therapist and has over 1,500 hours in Advanced Medical Massage Therapy. Iliana is always seeking to advance her knowledge and techniques to better assist her patients in the injury rehabilitation process. Iliana is trained in and practices many different modalities of massage, tailoring her treatments to the patient’s specific injury and job functions. Iliana finds that by combining several types of treatment, from myofascial release, deep tissue and myofascial cupping, that she is able to help alleviate pain and improve range-of-motion. Iliana works closely with the medical providers at Injury Care Associates to coordinate treatments and help return patients back-to-work.
Iliana enjoys spending time backpacking, camping and fishing all while exploring Colorado’s wonderful backcountry. When not working or exploring, Iliana spends time dotting on her grand babies and with her family and friends.
Michael Varnay, DC
Dr. Michael Varnay is a Board Certified Chiropractor specializing in the conservative management of chronic pain and work-related injuries. By using a multi-modal diagnostic and treatment model to determine the "can's and cannot's" of conservative care, Dr. Varnay creates unique treatment plans that are specific to the patient, injury, and level of functional status the patient plans to return to.
Services provided by Dr. Varnay include chiropractic adjustments, physio-tape, functional movement, and dry-needling. Dr. Varnay's goal when performing dry-needling is to restore function with the least risk possible. Dr. Varnay works with the patient to tailor the treatment to include exercises and activities that can be performed between visits to limit the number of visits necessary to achieve maximum levels of functional improvement.

Anthony de Mooy, MSN, BSN
Tony joined Injury Care Associates in 2020 to launch our On-site Services to better serve our patients and Colorado employers by bringing high-quality medical services direct to the job site. Tony is a Registered Nurse with experience in Acute Care and Hospital Administration and prior to nursing, was a Paramedic for 20 years. With his clinical background in emergency medicine and inpatient care along with his Masters in Nursing Leadership and administrative background, Tony is well positioned to lead our On-site Services team and provide world class services to patients and clients throughout the Denver area.
When not working Tony can often be found riding his horses through many of Colorado’s National or State parks or cycling his way over some of Colorado’s passes.
Tony staffs and manages Injury Care Associates On-site Services in the greater Denver area and select regions along the Front Range.
Practice Manager Denver
Karla joins Injury Care Associates after working at a personal injury law firm in California. Karla was drawn to Colorado by the outdoor recreation and the tranquility of the mountains. Karla enjoys being an advocate for our patients, partnering with the medical providers at Injury Care Associates to make sure that patients are receiving the highest quality care possible in a manner that causes minimal disruption to their personal and professional lives. Karla is acutely aware of the challenges that recovering from an accident can pose and she works with her colleagues every day to ensure that her patients are treated with the compassion and expertise required to make a full recovery. Karla is a Notary Public for the State of Colorado, is bilingual in English and Spanish and welcomes the opportunity to partner with local businesses to provide the highest quality Occupational Medicine services in the Denver area.
Practice Manager Thornton
Marissa, like many of our team, is a Colorado native and has been with Injury Care Associates since it opened in 2017. Marissa has a strong passion for healthcare and having a positive impact on patients’ lives. As a Practice Manager, Marissa embraces the opportunity she has to help injured workers navigate the workers’ compensation healthcare system. She understands the challenges and frustrations that patients experience when they have an injury and she is committed to helping them focus on their recovery and returning back to work. Marissa enjoys the opportunities that she has to be a trusted partner to patients and Colorado employers. Outside of Injury Care Associates Marissa enjoys photography and spending time with her family.
Richard J. Pompei, DO
Dr. Pompei began his medical career as a Flight Surgeon in the United States Navy following his graduation from the Naval Aerospace Medicine Institute. He attended medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency training at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Dr. Pompei served for three years as a Flight Surgeon before moving to Colorado and is active outdoors and enjoys hiking, cycling and spending time with his fiancé and dogs.
Dr. Pompei is Level II accredited through the Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation and is a Certified Medical Examiner with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Ronald “Lee” Kilgore, LMT
Lee Kilgore has been a massage therapist for 8 years and is a graduate of the University of Colorado in Boulder and Boulder College of Massage Therapy. Lee enjoys working as a part of a comprehensive care team to address patients’ limitations and create a customized treatment plan to improve function and reduce pain. Lee enjoys helping return patients back to their regular activities including work and play.
Outside the treatment room, Lee spends his time working on projects in the Ethereum Blockchain on Amazon Web Services and studying electromagnetic fields related to Earth's weather and biosphere.
C. Curtis Robinson III, MPT
Curtis has been practicing in the Denver area specialized in Occupational Medicine, Workers’ Compensation and Orthopedics for over 25 years. He now lives in Southeast Aurora and welcomes the opportunity to be in our Parker clinic. His philosophy with patient care is to provide excellent service and quality of care in a clinical setting for physical therapy with an emphasis on efficiency and education. Curtis is passionate about taking care of the patient. He believes that patient care be one-on-one, advancing goals and improving function while returning patients back to work from their injury. Curtis and Dr. Kalevik have partnered together in Occupational Medicine for 15 years serving patients in Denver and Parker.
Curtis earned his Master’s in Physical Therapy at University of Southern California in 1996. He has a Bachelor of Art in Exercise Science in 1993 from Occidental College. Curtis is originally from Albuquerque, NM and loves Spicy Food! He enjoys travelling the world and road trips. He loves trying new restaurants with his wife Amy and being around family. Curtis enjoys playing card and board games. He is passionate about pinball, billiards, and shuffleboard. Curtis is an avid sports fan and supports the Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rockies, and Denver Nuggets!
Jason Fixsel is originally from the great state of Iowa and began his career in Safety in 1992 with MCI Telecommunications. A job offer, desire for the outdoors and skiing led him to Colorado in 1996 to manage the workers’ compensation program for MCI WorldCom. In the following 10 years he gained experience in Risk Management, OSHA Guidelines, and Workplace Safety with both small and large organizations. Jason moved into the Account Management field in Occupational Medicine in 2006. He currently has over 11 years of experience taking care of clients and developing business relationships in Denver, Thornton and along the Front Range. Jason loves to golf and spend time with his wife Krysta and 3 children.
Chris joins the team at Injury Care Associates after relocating with his wife from Wisconsin to avoid the harsh winters and embrace all the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Stout with a degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management, he found his first career at Johnston’s Bakery selling pre-made bakery doughs throughout the Midwest. After five years of early mornings and well over 500,000 cookies baked, and nearly as many eaten, the move to Colorado was an opportunity to seek out a new challenge. Chris has turned in his bakery apron and cold Midwest winters for the active Colorado lifestyle and has brought his enthusiasm and positivity for helping people to Injury Care Associates. Chris is looking forward to working with the passionate team at Injury Care Associates to provide care to injured workers and help Colorado employers manage risk.
Brett de Mooy, MS, MBA
Brett is a Colorado native who has been in the healthcare field since 2005. Brett has experience in the administration of Family Practice, Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine facilities. Brett has a Masters in Biomedical Sciences from Colorado State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Colorado. Brett enjoys running and cycling and spending time with his wife and sons.
