How it works
Three calls, and the ride is handled
You never book, pay, or reimburse anything. Tell us a ride is needed when you schedule the new-injury visit.
The worker reports the injury
They tell you or your safety officer, the same as any incident. Nothing changes about your reporting process.
You call ICA
Schedule the new-injury visit at the nearest clinic and say the worker needs transportation. We take it from there.
We handle the ride and the care
The worker is picked up, evaluated, treated, and dropped back at work — and you get a call with their restrictions.

If the claim requires ongoing testing or treatment, ICA submits a referral to the insurer for ongoing transportation services as per the Colorado Workers’ Compensation Act.

The details, in plain terms
Nothing. ICA covers the full cost of the ride between the worker’s place of work and an ICA clinic, both directions. There is no out-of-pocket expense for the injured worker and no charge to the employer. Transportation is between the worker’s place of work and an ICA clinic only.
All new-injury evaluations at an ICA clinic are eligible, to and from the worker’s place of work.
If the worker requires ongoing testing and/or treatment for their work-related claim, ICA will submit a referral to the insurer for ongoing transportation services as per the Colorado Workers’ Compensation Act.
Non-injury services including drug and alcohol testing, physical exams and other employee health services are not eligible for free transportation.
ICA maintains business relationships with third-party rideshare companies that provide medical transportation, and arranges transportation for patients using those companies. Once the transportation appointment is made, the injured worker will receive a text message notifying them of the scheduled ride. If the worker does not have a cell phone, the company representative will be notified of the ride.
The worker or a representative of the company can contact any ICA clinic to schedule a new-injury evaluation. During scheduling, notify a member of our team that the worker will require transportation and we will schedule a ride. Once the ride is scheduled, we will communicate the time and location of the ride directly to the worker. Once the worker completes their appointment, we will arrange transportation back to their place of work.
The service is available at all Injury Care Associates clinics.
No. ICA covers the full cost of the transportation for the injured worker. There is no out-of-pocket expense for the injured worker or cost to the employer.
If any issues arise with the transportation, contact the respective ICA clinic immediately and we will assist you in resolving the issue promptly.
